Hello, we are Girl Scout Troop 60162

Our Story
We are a troop of 5th-grade Junior Girl Scouts from Amherst, NH. Some of us have been in the troop since kindergarten while others have joined more recently. In 2021, our troop started the Kindness Rocks Garden at the Amherst Town Library. Last year, we did a project to remind people of the importance of picking up trash and not littering. As a troop, we enjoy helping others, doing badge work together, going on trips, and spending time with each other. One of our favorite activities is going to sleepovers with our fellow Girl Scouts!

This website is part of our Bronze Award project, and in order to earn it, each Girl Scout in our troop has to complete 20 hours of community service. The Girl Scouts that made this website want to tell you all about the patriots buried in Amherst’s cemeteries. This website contains biographies on all of Amherst’s Revolutionary War patriots and cemetery maps of the: Amherst Town Hall Burying Ground, Meadow View Cemetery, Chestnut Hill Cemetery, and Cricket Corner Cemetery. The Amherst Town Hall Burying Ground and Chestnut Hill maps have been updated. Another part of our project includes plotting GPS coordinates to each patriot grave in Amherst on www.findagrave.com and producing an audio file of each patriot biography. We hope you enjoy reading about our town’s patriots. Whether you’re an educator in Amherst looking to extend your students' studies on the Revolutionary War or you just want to learn more about our town’s patriots or research any patriots you may be related to, we hope this website will help many people. Thank you, and have a nice day!
